| The Avun are viewed by many as one of the most backward species who claim to have reached the space age tech level due to their preference for hand to hand combat. In fact many tend to look at the Avun, and their melee weapons, when they see them on a planet's surface and wonder if they aren't actually a primitive species. Most overlook the fact that the so called primitive weapons are typically on the cutting edge of modern technology. More shocking to most who view the Avun as primitives is just how comfortable Avuns are with modern technology. |

The Avun is a highly dexterous species, able to move their bodies in ways that amaze many other beings. Because of this, they recieve a 1D+2 bonus to all Brawling Parry, Dodge, Melee Combat, Melee Parry, Running, Brawling, Climbig/Jumping, and Swimming skill checks. |

|
Every Avun is a member of one of the clans of Rezil and is extremely loyal to his or her clan before all others. This loyalty has often meant that Avun's from different clans, especially historically opposing clans, will lead to hostile arguements and even out right fighting if both sides do not agree on anything major. However, more often than in modern times, such disagreements between Avun from opposite clans has meant a refusal to work with each other, resulting in almost nothing getting done. Things really must get out of hand for the Avun to fight those of a different clan. |

The Avun are a very loyal species. In fact some have said they are almost as loyal as the Wookiees. Their word is their bond and they would rather die than break their word. Once they pledge their loyalty to someone, they will remain so until that being does something so horrible to the Avun as to result in losing the loyalty of the Avun. |
| Melee Preference: |
|
The Avun have a strong preference for melee combat, both armed and unarmed, believing that it is the only honorable form of combat there is. Because of this, they typically will use weapons that were designed for the purposes of melee combat, resenting the idea of using any non-melee as an impromptu melee weapon. The will be more willing to us any kind of ranged weapon if it has also been designed as a melee weapon from the very beginning. The only exceptions to this feeling are vehicle and ship weapons, which they view as an acceptable evil. |
| Primitive: |

Many beings tend to view the Avun as a primitive species rather than a space age one. Because of this, many Avun when on a non-Avun world by themselves will play up this belief so as to hide their actual activities. It's really amazing what most beings are willing to do before those they don't believe will understand what is occuring.
