Background: |
| Cobaalt was left to fend for himself when his parents were imprisoned in the Spice Mines of Kessel for stealing from a Sector Moff. Living on the streets of Farrfin was a great teacher for any thief. When he turned 17, tired of living off the streets, Cobaalt jumped a ship and left for the stars to find his fortune. He joined a smuggler and proved the most usefull little thief and conman. After 4 years with the captain and crew he left to find a new life. Cobaalt prided himself on never being caught, and having next to no one know his true identity, and this crew was becoming far too recognizable. It took Cobaalt many years and many setbacks, near captures, and near misses before he was a great thief. After each theft he would leave a business card, "You have just been burglerized by Cobaalt the Thief. Yoink!" Since no one ever knew who Cobaalt was the universe took to fear for their possessions. No one seemed exempt from his sticky fingers. He stole thousands of credits from the Hut accounts, the Orion Syndacate accounts, and even from the Empire accounts. He racked up dozens of bounties on his head ranging from as low as $800 C for small theft from the Jade Art Gallery, all the way up to the $368, 584 C for the theft of $200, 000 C from the Hut Crime Organization. The only problem was no one knew who to hunt, and no one could guess his next target as he stole everything from wallets to fine art. Partially sympathetic to the Rebel cause Cobaalt took to aiding them through thefts of supplies, Bacta, finances, and any arms he could steal. The only reason Cobaalt did not have many enemies was his main ideals in life. A great thief can steal without killing or destroying. A master of security devices and measures Cobaalt learned to bypass nearly every measure anyone could take against him. Without killing anyone he managed to steal all he would ever need, and not become a main target for illimination. As the Rebels won the battle and the Jedi were re-instated he took to challenging that which intimidated him most, the old wizards. His first attempt to steal from the Academy was an utter disaster. Instead of making off with a Holocron, he made off with a breakfast pastery thanks to the Jedi Master. His second and third attempts made about the same level of success. His fourth attempt met with great success as he made off with Luke's father's lightsaber. Cobaalt could finally claim to be capable of stealing anything from anyone. Now with all he had stolen the great thief created an escape home for himself to hide in a galaxy that hated and feared him. The Thieves Den was an asteroid found mined out. After many purchases on the black market through friends he once held, Cobaalt managed to get the hyperdrive enguines, shield generators, Ion cannons, blaster cannons, environmental and gravity generators, and all things else he would need. Rumors started to spread that a floating fortress was out there for all thieves and conmen to take refuge in if they could only find it. Cobaalt started to train thieves and conmen in his floating palace by means of specially programmed droids. The Thieves Den now serves as home, training camp, and supply depot to many a criminal. You can find just about anything a conman or thief would ever need from the simplest picklock, the most advanced make-up kit and voice synthisizer. As the legends grew Cobaalt was found to be a Farghul and is now revered as the return of their greater god of thievery, fortold in their legends to return. Many seek him out for fortune and glory, both in the capture, or the training of this man. |
