| Little is known about Barbazobel’s life before he became a pirate.
Most generally view him as having become a crewman on a light freighter at an early age,
probably as young as ten but no older than twelve, and thus having very little education.
However, many of those who have actually spent a week in his company insist that this is
simply not the case. They claim that he demonstrates an educational level commonly
found in someone who has recieved a college degree. One young woman, who once
found herself being courted by the feared pirate lord, even claims that she has proof that
he has three college degrees. She also claims that in private he demonstrates a far
different cultural background from that of your basic spacer, something closer to the son
of royalty or some politician. Many agree that if Barbazobel past is indeed dramatically
different from what it is believed to be that he deliberately may have created a false
background for himself so as to protect his family. Ydvart Barbazobel may not even be
his real name, though that young woman does claim it is the name he attended college
under.
Most of what is known about Barbazobel begins when he was twenty-four. At
some point in his twenty-fourth year he met the well-known pirate captain Enkamen
Kerasigeolu at Kalarba. The two became quick friends and Kerasigeolu took on the
younger man as his apprentice. Barbazobel proved a quick study and early in his
twnety-fifth year Kerasigeolu gave him command of the captured Imperial
Guardian-class light cruiser Imperial Dawn. Barbazobel, with Kerasigeolu’s
permission, renamed the ship the Advenire, which became an escort to
Kerasigeolu’s Corellian Corvette Peiran Daiesthai. Soon the two were wrecking
havoc throughout the Mid and Outer Rims. Later that same year the two pirate ships
closed on a bulk freighter and soon captured it. The ship was a Ghtroc Industries
Empress-class super freighter named Starshine Tempest which
Barbazobel had a liking for. Kerasigeolu allowed Barbazobel to claim this prize ship as
his new command, especially as he planned to retire and destory the Peiran Daiesthai
so as to make it look as if he had died when the ship went up, thus ensuring that it
would be unlikely Imperial authorities would stop looking to arrest him.
Barbazobel had the Starshine Tempest modified so as to carry eight double
laser cannons and rechristened her the Revengier. Inheriting the Advenire
and most of Kerasigeolu pirate orginization, Barbazobel began his career as a pirate
captain. So as to honor Kerasigeolu, he renamed the orginization the Peiran Daiesthais
after Kerasigeolu’s flagship. He then set out to get his hands on the blueprints for several
Ghtroc Industries ships so as to be able to build modified version of them. The members
of the Peiran Daiesthais quickly realized that their new captain had visions of creating a
fleet of such modified ships. But they had yet to realize just how great Barbazobel visions
truely were, for he planned to create a ship greater than any a pirate had ever owned, one
from which he and his pirates could easily spread their reign of terror.
