| The Transgressor was designed to serve as a multi-role superiority fighter. The weapons array is designed to give it a hard hitting punch capable for disabling even the heaviest fighters. The heavy weapons load came at a cost, however, as the power to fire the 3 sets of laser cannons limited the amount leftover for shields and other systems. This leaves the Transgressor with average shields and maneuverability and a relatively slow hyperdrive. The x2 hyperdrive further limits the Transgressors use, which lead to it being assigned mainly to carriers and planetary defence forces. There are plans in the furture for an upgraded Transgressor-class fighter that will sport one of the newer Anaran x1 hyperdrives and more energy efficient shield generators and lasers. |
