| Why I don't trust Tygers - part one |
 |
| The adventure begins on the lawless and dusty planet of Korbin, where Davbu (mechanic, PC) and Clark Campell (gambler, PC) are down on their luck, trying to win money to get off the planet. Cornellius (smuggler, PC) is in the same ram-shack casino, laying low from a Quarren whom he owes quite a bit of money. Suddenly, a fight breaks out at a table. Two Bothens seem to have been cheating at sabacc, and got caught. They duck for cover and start blasting, and soon the whole place is in on the fight. Clark and Davbu turn over their table and just try to not get shot; but Cornellius eyes the credits that fell on the floor. But with his attention averted he fails to notice the Quarren sneak up behind him and stick something up to his back. |
| Meanwhile, Davbu is shooting back at a Rodian and blasts him down. "Funny, what's that beeping noise coming from his chest?" Clark bellows "Davbu, you idiot, hit the deck!" Every charactor has about a round before the Rodian explodes. The shack is demolished. Clark, Davbu, and Cornellius slowly rise from the rubble. Cornellius turns to the dead Quarren to see if he recognises him and sees it wasn't a blaster in his back, but a datapad. An old man named Pops (crotchety old man, NPC) also rises. Three of the four decide to stick together until they can get off the planet, but Cornellius jumps on one of the speeder bikes and hits the gas. Or so he plans. |
| The bike loses power and drops into the dirt. "Friend, just where do you think you're going?" says Clark After some, *ahem*, discussion, they find out Cornellius has a ship he was headed to. They all jump into a now-ownerless speeder and zoom across the wastland. After multiple run-ins with storm troopers it is readily appearent just how crazy-ass soldier and greedy Cornellius is, how Davbu resembles a space faring Forrest Gump, how smooth talking bad shooting Clark is, and how incredibly nimble Pops is. They all make it to the ship. "What is this thing?" Clark says, nervously. "You've never heard of the Silver Dingus?" |
| - - - - - - - - - - | | The group drops down on Kye Manteel to figure their next move and to repair the ship (it was ransacked while on Korbin), but they don't have much time. Apparently bounty hunters are on their tail from their stunts on Korbin. When Davbu and Cornellius are in town they get shot at. Cornellius ducks down an alley, Davbu into a bar. Davbu oh so slighly asks the bar tender if there is a place to hide. A Bardel hears him and sticks a gun in Davbus back, then an alien named Ruset (bounty hunter, PC) sticks a gun in the bardel's back! They all go into the refresser to "talk". The bardel swings at Ruset, she dodges and slices his face with the vibro-knife. Davbu tackles him, they wrestle until Ruset blasts the other bounty hunter. Davbu is perplexed (as always) and dips. Ruset follows. Clark is in even worse luck. He is arrested and brought to a detention center. |
| Clark uses a forged Imperial Mercant Marine Card to trick the officer in charge, Dirk Dalgess, to actually let him go and repair the ship as well! He promises Dirk to tranfer him to a 'worth-while position for a man of his talents'. Meanwhile Cornellius is on the ship looking at his new data pad. "Hmm, incoded. I'll have to get Davbu to look at this." Everybody shows up at the ship, yet even MORE bounty hunters are staking it out, and well there is a shoot fest to escape the planet yet again. "Davbu, who the heck is this?" "Um, I'm, not sure, she said her name is Russit" "That's Ruset!" |
| - - - - - - - - - - |
| So the group flys to a low profile place, "with no Imperials!" Cornellius adds. Ah here we are, Bespin. We can finally do real buisness. They all split up. Clark takes the datapad to a a professional decoder, which will take a day and lots of credits. So they go to the Casino to relax. Cornellius hagles over the price of Tabian gas. Ruset and Pops try to drink each other under the table. An expensive silver mouse droid runs into Davbu. "Excuse me, sir, you have a message." Suddenly a hologram is emetted, larger than life (or at least Davbu hopes it's larger than life, otherwise this would be about a 7 1/2 foot tiger). There sits a Cyresian, a imposing feline biped with fine Alderianian silk robes and a large pipe. "Why hello Davbu, my name is Doujana Mund." he purrs in a deep, omonus voice.... |
