I Stormtrooper
During one campaign I ran years ago when the original edition came out, one player was running a custom character who was an Ex-Stormtrooper turned mercenary. He was wanted by the Empire for desertion and, after a couple of run-ins with the Imperials, had gotten a rather large bounty placed on his head. He also wore a full suit of Stormtrooper armor which he used to great advantage, as you will see.

At one point, he was hired by a Rebel cell to pick up a delivery of stolen imperial weapons from off-world and deliver it to them. However, he was approached by a Hutt crime lord who offered double what the rebels were paying. He sold the weapons to the Hutt and tried to deliver crates filled with junk to the Rebels in order to cash in twice.

Leaving his ship in space dock he met with and attempted to con the Rebels into paying him upfront. Upon payment he would deliver the weapons. His plan was to dump and run before the Rebels could open the crates and discover the junk. However, even the best laid plans are subject to failure. The con roll was miserable and the Rebels aimed their blasters at him.

The Rebels sent a small squad to check out the PCs ship, thereby finding the junk. Suddenly the PC found himself being chased down the alleyways of the spaceport. Rounding one corner, he saw a squad of Stormtroopers on patrol. Running up to them (remember he wore stormtrooper armor) and shouted that he was being chased by rebels and that the rest of his squad was dead. At this point I made him roll an easy con which was vastly successful. The Stormtrooper squad engaged the Rebels and our hero made well his escape.
